FAQ about AutoWisePlot
When I am setting the option AWP prompt to 'Please run AutoCAD first', but I am running AutoCAD.
On the toolbar, there is an button to let you select the AutoCAD version, it must correspond to your AutoCAD running now. Otherwise, the version of AutoCAD may also cause this problem, especially AutoCAD2004/05/06, you can download the special version AutoWisePlot V3.1.16 to solve it.
When starting AWP, the Windows show an error report?
It is not a serious problem, just restart AWP to solved it. It will be solved completely in the future.
Why I can't add more file to the list to batch plot?
It is the limitation of unregistered version, you can only add 5 file to the list before register.
What is the difference of plot between AutoWisePlot and AutoCAD ?
AutoCAD can batch plot drawing using Publish, but it need to built layout for each drawing, and can only plot one drawing in a layout. AutoWisePlot need not to built layout for each drawing, need not to care about the scale, rotation, position etc. of each drawing, and can plot 2 or above drawings in a layout. On the side, AutoWisePlot can batch modify the printer, paper size, plot style table etc. of layout.
Why I get a PLT file but not a PDF file when I use PDF printer to create
PDF?
Some PDF virtual printer can provide it's self-path to save PDF files,
so you needn't select "Plot to file" function but select "Plot
to device". Note that set the virtual printer do not to show a
preview when plot. The "Plot to file" function is good at
creating PLT and DWF files.
Why I need to put the Drawing's name
or Drawing's number into a special layer?
Because when using "Plot to file" function,
the software need to take the drawing's title as the file name. If
AutoWisePlot fail to get the drawing's title, it will name the files such as "Document's
name - layout's name -
number".
Now there is a new arithmetic to get the drawing's title, no
matter the title is Text , MText or a attribute in the title block and
it isn't necessary to put the drawing's name or drawing's number into
the special layer. Even
so, it is suggested to
follow this rule for saving time.
Do AutoWisePlot need AutoCAD
software to work?
Yes, of course it need.
Why I get a opposite orientation every time when I use
AutoWisePlot to preview or plot my drawing?
It is because the printer in the Control Panel of Windows has
been modified, go to Control Panel to correct the orientation of the
paper's default orientation.
Why there is
always another viewport in the layout create by AWP?
By default, AutoCAD will create a viewport in new layout. You
can type OPTIONS in the command line of AutoCAD, select
Display tab, uncheck this option Layout elements/Create viewport
in new layout.
